1. Hashrate Stability
The Whatsminer M70 is rock solid. Its hashrate graph is a flat line with almost zero deviation. The S25 Pro, while faster on average, showed more "spiky" behavior, occasionally dropping 5-10 TH/s for short bursts before recovering. For large-scale farms, the M70’s predictability might be preferred.

Bitmain wins here. At 11.28 J/TH (underclocked), the S25 Pro is effectively the most "Green" Bitcoin miner ever produced. If your energy cost is $0.06/kWh or higher, the S25 Pro is the clear winner for ROI.

3. Thermal Management
Both machines have moved away from standard air fans.
- The S25 Pro is designed specifically for Immersion Cooling. Attempting to run this on air is not recommended and will drastically reduce chip lifespan.
- The M70 uses a Closed-Loop Liquid System. It looks like a high-end PC radiator setup but on an industrial scale. This makes it easier to integrate into existing data centers that haven't fully committed to immersion tanks yet.
Maintenance and Longevity
In 2026, we've learned that ASICs are long-term assets.
- MicroBT (M70): Known for superior heat dissipation on their boards. We expect the M70 to have a 5-6 year lifespan with only minor thermal paste servicing needed.
- Bitmain (S25 Pro): Extremely high-performance but slightly more fragile. The 2nm chips are powerful but sensitive to impurities in immersion fluids. You must use high-quality dielectric fluids (like Engineered Fluids M-series) to keep these running long-term.
Verdict: Which should you buy in 2026?
Choose the Bitmain S25 Pro if:
- You have high energy costs and need absolute efficiency.
- You are building a new facility with full immersion infrastructure.
